Swiss composite materials specialist Gurit has strengthened its position in the global wind energy supply chain after securing a new two-year supply agreement with a leading Western wind turbine manufacturer.
The contract, valued at approximately CHF 12 million over its term, expands an existing partnership between the two companies and will see Gurit supply a wider range of specialised epoxy-based resins and adhesives used in the production of wind turbine blades.
The agreement covers a portfolio of formulated composite materials developed for advanced blade manufacturing applications. The supplied solutions include established epoxy systems as well as customised formulations created by Gurit’s technical teams at its specialist facility on the Isle of Wight in the United Kingdom.
The new contract reflects the growing importance of advanced composite materials in the wind industry, where turbine manufacturers are seeking to improve blade performance, durability and production efficiency while continuing to scale up next-generation turbine designs.
Gurit said the expanded partnership reinforces its role as an integrated composite solutions provider, combining material development, application expertise and technical support throughout the wind blade manufacturing process.
The company works closely with turbine manufacturers and blade producers from early-stage design and development through to industrial production, providing materials and engineering support for high-performance composite applications.
With more than four decades of experience in resins and adhesives, Gurit supports global wind manufacturers in areas including supplier consolidation, manufacturing optimisation and process standardisation across production facilities.
The company supplies the renewable energy sector through a broad portfolio of composite solutions, including structural core materials, structural profiles, prepregs, formulated products such as adhesives and resins, composite tooling equipment and engineering services.
Gurit operates production facilities and offices across Europe, North America, South America, Asia and Oceania, serving global markets including wind energy, marine, construction and other advanced composite applications.
