Polenergia – Poland’s largest private energy group – and KGHM – one of the world’s leading producers of copper and silver – have signed a contract for the supply of energy from renewable sources. The agreement, in the form of a cPPA (corporate Power Purchase Agreement), based on Polenergia’s stable and fully green assets, ensures not only access to clean energy but also cost predictability. The annual supply volume will amount to around 42 GWh, equivalent to the annual energy demand of a town with 20,000 inhabitants.
“Polish industry has enormous potential for energy transformation. Polenergia is responding to these needs by offering solutions tailored to market expectations. cPPA contracts provide not only access to clean energy but also financial stability – even for the most energy-intensive sectors of the economy. Our offer for industry is competitive in terms of both quality and price. We provide stable supplies of genuinely green energy and attractive pricing conditions fixed for the entire duration of the contract. The agreement with KGHM is proof that Polenergia has the scale, experience, and expertise necessary to serve the largest energy consumers in Poland. We are pleased that together with KGHM we can actively support the green transformation of Polish industry.” Adam Purwin, President of the Management Board, Polenergia S.A told The Voice of Renewables.
The PPA contracts offered by Polenergia deliver tangible value for clients – they provide predictable, stable electricity prices in a volatile market environment, and are therefore a practical tool supporting the energy transition and sustainable development of Polish businesses. KGHM, as one of Poland’s leading companies and a major global producer of non-ferrous metals, demonstrates that energy-intensive industries are ready to embrace such solutions when they offer mutual benefits.
All contracted energy will be generated by Polenergia’s Puck Wind Farm, with deliveries beginning on 1 January 2026.
Through such agreements, Polenergia sells renewable energy directly to clients from its portfolio of 13 wind farms and 8 photovoltaic farms. The total capacity of its onshore renewable assets stands at 642 MW. The company is developing further onshore projects and, together with Norway’s Equinor, is constructing the Baltic 2 and 3 offshore wind farms in the Polish Baltic Sea, with a combined capacity of 1,440 MW – enough to supply green energy to more than 2 million households in Poland. Also in the pipeline is Baltic 1, the largest and most advanced project of the second phase of offshore development, with a capacity of up to 1,560 MW, which is being prepared for the offshore auction scheduled for December.
