Velto Renewables completes acquisition and begins operation of Solar Farm in Southern France

Velto Renewables announces today the completion of the acquisition from QENERGY of the La Gineste solar farm in La Tourette-Cabardès (Aude), France.

Developed and constructed by Q ENERGY, in close collaboration with the local municipality and stakeholders, the 9 MWp facility comprises over 15,000 photovoltaic panels. As a result, the solar farm is expected to generate renewable electricity equivalent to the annual consumption of around 5,500 residents, while avoiding nearly 2,900 tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year.

La Gineste demonstrates the potential for renewable energy projects to coexist with agricultural use. Once left fallow for decades, the site now provides secure grazing for a local farmer’s livestock, thereby enhancing biodiversity, supporting animal welfare, and promoting sustainable land management.

With the acquisition now completed, Velto Renewables will manage the long-term operation of the project. Through this initiative, the company reaffirms its commitment to delivering renewable energy solutions that create enduring value for both local communities and the environment. La Gineste is part of a larger portfolio being transferred from Q ENERGY to Velto. Last spring, the two companies agreed on a long-term partnership that already provides a framework for further project sales.
