In the heart of North Macedonia, a landmark energy project is taking shape — one that could redefine the region’s renewable energy landscape. YESS Power, together with China-based Cubenergy and under the investment of Mey Energy, is building a 60 MW battery energy storage system (BESS) that will be fully integrated with the Balkans’ largest private solar power plant, FEC Novaci.
This is not only YESS Power’s first major project in Europe but also the largest energy storage project currently under construction in Eastern Europe — a milestone that signals both technological progress and a decisive step toward the continent’s green transition.
FEC Novaci: A Regional Renewable Powerhouse
Completed in 2023, the FEC Novaci solar power plant is already a symbol of North Macedonia’s renewable ambitions. Spanning 57 hectares, the plant boasts an installed capacity of 55 MW and an annual generation of 85,000 MWh, enough to power around 30,000 households.
By late November 2025, this impressive facility will be joined by YESS Power’s 60 MW storage system, ensuring that the solar plant’s high production capacity is delivered to the grid more reliably and efficiently. The integration of advanced storage technology will not only stabilize supply but also maximize the value of renewable energy in the region.
YESS Power’s Role: Turning Vision into Reality
YESS Power is spearheading the entire integration process — from engineering and procurement to installation, commissioning, and long-term maintenance. The company brings more than 40 years of experience in engineering and energy services through its parent company, Topkapı Endüstri, a pioneer in Turkey’s industrial energy sector.
This expertise positions YESS Power as a trusted partner capable of delivering turnkey solutions that meet both the technical and environmental demands of large-scale energy infrastructure.
Cubenergy: A Global Technology Partner
On the technology side, YESS Power has teamed up with Cubenergy, one of China’s leading battery system integrators. Cubenergy is supplying the advanced storage systems for the project — a collaboration that extends beyond Novaci. Together, the companies are laying the foundation for a long-term partnership, with ambitions to expand into the Turkish and Eastern European markets.
A Milestone for the Region
As Europe pushes forward with its energy transition, projects like this stand as proof of what international collaboration can achieve. For North Macedonia, it is a transformative leap toward a cleaner, more resilient power system. For YESS Power, it is the beginning of a new chapter — a bold step into the European renewable energy market.
And for the Western Balkans as a whole, it is a glimpse into a future where innovation and sustainability go hand in hand.
