Monthly wind PPA & Deals Tracker — August 2026

The Voice of Renewables presents our monthly global roundup of wind energy deals announced or closed in August 2026. Covering major PPAs and offtake agreements alongside financing, M&A, refinancings, bonds, tax equity and joint ventures, this is a concise view of the transactions driving wind investment and development around the world.

PPAs

  • TotalEnergies & Ørsted (UK) — TotalEnergies signed a long-term PPA for REGO-backed power from a 24.8% stake in the Walney I & II offshore wind farms (367MW), running through 2030.
  • KP Energy & GUVNL (India) — 25-year PPA for a 100MW Gujarat wind project at ₹3.435/unit via GUVNL’s Wind Tender Phase X, pushing KP’s IPP portfolio past 250MW.
  • EETC & Alcazar Energy (Egypt) — PPA for a 407MW build-own-operate wind farm at Zafarana, repowering part of Egypt’s aging 2,000-turbine complex.
  • EDF Power Solutions & Vale Base Metals (Brazil) — Self-supply PPA for Phase 1 (142.5MW/23 turbines) of the Diana Wind Farm in Bahia, expected online 2027 with ~2,000 jobs anticipated.
  • Amazon & OX2/Eolus (Sweden) — Four PPAs (~200MW combined) lifting Amazon’s contracted Swedish wind capacity to 985MW, supporting Nordic data-center clean-power sourcing.

Other Deals

  • Cadeler acquires Menck from Acteon (Germany/global) — €501m enterprise-value acquisition of the offshore-foundation installation specialist, financed via €380m in facilities from DNB and Rabobank.
  • Hai Long Offshore Wind Farm (Taiwan) — Mitsui, Northland Power and Gentari closed an incremental NT$55bn (US$1.7bn) financing from 35 institutions/ECAs for the 1,022MW project, positioning it as Asia’s largest single offshore wind farm.
  • RWE & US government — RWE agreed to a $1.22bn payment from the Trump administration to relinquish three US offshore leases (~7GW combined), exiting US offshore wind entirely — part of nearly $4bn in Trump-era offshore lease buybacks this year.
  • MEAG sells stake to Ardian (Texas, US) — Munich Re’s MEAG sold its minority interest in the 460MW Horse Creek and Electra wind farms to Ardian, consolidating Ardian’s ERCOT-market ownership.
  • Volaris Group acquires Biodiv-Wind (France) — Acquisition of the market-leading real-time bird/bat detection systems provider for onshore turbines (700+ installs) — a niche but strategically important compliance-tech deal.
  • Haventus & Dajin (UK/China) — MoU to combine Dajin’s offshore-wind foundation manufacturing/vessel capacity with Haventus’s Ardersier Port marshalling infrastructure for UK/European projects.
  • TotalEnergies, Shell & KKR (Europe) — TotalEnergies bought Shell’s 0.5GW European onshore renewables business (wind/solar) and simultaneously sold a 50% stake in a separate 1.2GW developed portfolio to KKR — a major European renewables reshuffle.
  • EDF Power Solutions / Al Khadra Partners / OQ Alternative Energy (Oman) — Financial close on the 120MW Jaalan Bani Bu Ali wind project under a 20-year PPA with Nama Power and Water Procurement, supporting Oman’s plan for 2.1GW of wind this decade.
  • Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (Australia) — Closed a AUD 1.7bn, 10-bank financing facility for the 408MW wind + 104MW battery Gawara Baya hybrid project in Queensland, with offtake to Stanwell and SmartestEnergy under the Capacity Investment Scheme.
